Modern/Stenographer

Janae just finished performing Thoroughly Modern Millie Jr. It was a fun production, and she enjoyed all the songs and dancing. She was in the ensemble but still shined and stood out for me, but I am her mother.

\

If you look closely, she is the only modern with sleeves. I didn't realize it would be so argumentative to request them, but I don't think anyone would notice unless I pointed it out.

Here she sings her one line "Percy" dreaming of her old boyfriend in the song Forget About the Boy.

Fall Thanks

This first quarter of Jared being home with just me and Tanner has been a little trying for Jared. He sure misses his playmates. We've been going to the Library once a week and sometimes another outing, but some days it just isn't enough.  We enjoyed playing in the leaves, and I mean we. He doesn't seem to last long when I need to go inside. I like being his favorite person to play with, but sometimes basic cleaning and other responsibilities need to be done. I keep wishing for Tanner to grow up soon to be his playmate, but I still enjoy having a cute little baby that crawls all over, clears the book shelf and coffee table, and pulls himself up by my pant leg. He took two steps yesterday so the end of that phase is drawing to a close. (sigh)

I'm thankful for my ears.

Halloween

We had a party at the church for the preschool children. Jared liked being with his friends.

My mom hosted a very fun Halloween party for the family with the traditional eating the doughnut on the string.

Randy borrowed Nathan's costume.

It was such a warm Halloween night. The older children stopped at a neighbors yard that was showing movies on a sheet hung in front of their garage. It broke up the trick-or-treating because they could have kept going long into the night. It also helped cut down on the amount of candy even though they still had way too much.

Visiting Family

Visiting family for a special girl's baptism. Their stake center is right next to the Temple. How cool is that!

\

The cousins sure love being together as do the brothers.

We also took another fun trip to visit my grandparents for fall break.

Everyone enjoyed the warmer weather and no one is too old for a carousel ride.

We also got to watch a homecoming parade. I could believe that even the Jr High bands marched. We loved it, and can't get enough of the bands. Could do without the military cannon shoot.  I don't think they should do that in front of children. I couldn't cover mine and Tanner's ears at the same time. My ears were ringing for a while afterwards.

My cousin looks great in her uniform plus she plays the clarinet just like me.

He can go anywhere

I took this picture of our 3 boys for Randy to have in his office. I really like it.

This is our little buddy when he was still learning to sit up.

Then he learned to crawl by pushing his toes, and doing a head stand as demonstrated by Jared.

Now he can go anywhere and get into everything. We sure have too much stuff that is accessible to his busy little hands.

The piano by far is his favorite. Whenever anyone is practicing Tanner makes a bee-line for the piano, no matter what part of the house he is in. This can be distracting when they're trying to practice. It does help if he sticks to the top of the keyboard which is softer. It makes for some interesting duets.

Soccer

Go Marianne!

What a full soccer season! We had 3 players and Randy coached 2 teams. It made for a busy time, we sure enjoyed it though.

Randy coached Marianne's team. Here she is doing a corner kick. Her team thought it was fun to spray the coach with water at the end of almost every game. This team showed the most improvement. They learned there position and began to be more aggressive. They are  naturally sweet girls and being assertive doesn't come naturally for them.

Randy also coached Nathan's team. Here they are on the side line. They were really fun to watch and played really well together. They became very efficient at passing the ball up the field to score. During the last game of the season they focused on passes to those that hadn't scored during the season. By the end everyone had a goal this season.

Julene played soccer too. Here's Randy talking to his team at half time. Are we motivating the team or directing them in a complicated choral number?

Go Julene! Is that tall girl pushing?

We even got to have my grandparents come see a game. Tanner and Janae were a little distracted.

The end of a fun rewarding season.
