He can go anywhere

I took this picture of our 3 boys for Randy to have in his office. I really like it.

This is our little buddy when he was still learning to sit up.

Then he learned to crawl by pushing his toes, and doing a head stand as demonstrated by Jared.

Now he can go anywhere and get into everything. We sure have too much stuff that is accessible to his busy little hands.

The piano by far is his favorite. Whenever anyone is practicing Tanner makes a bee-line for the piano, no matter what part of the house he is in. This can be distracting when they're trying to practice. It does help if he sticks to the top of the keyboard which is softer. It makes for some interesting duets.

Soccer

Go Marianne!

What a full soccer season! We had 3 players and Randy coached 2 teams. It made for a busy time, we sure enjoyed it though.

Randy coached Marianne's team. Here she is doing a corner kick. Her team thought it was fun to spray the coach with water at the end of almost every game. This team showed the most improvement. They learned there position and began to be more aggressive. They are  naturally sweet girls and being assertive doesn't come naturally for them.

Randy also coached Nathan's team. Here they are on the side line. They were really fun to watch and played really well together. They became very efficient at passing the ball up the field to score. During the last game of the season they focused on passes to those that hadn't scored during the season. By the end everyone had a goal this season.

Julene played soccer too. Here's Randy talking to his team at half time. Are we motivating the team or directing them in a complicated choral number?

Go Julene! Is that tall girl pushing?

We even got to have my grandparents come see a game. Tanner and Janae were a little distracted.

The end of a fun rewarding season.

School

Everyone has been excited to start school again.(Janae left earlier so she wasn't in the group picture.) Nathan has joined the elementary ballroom team, and Marianne is in the school choir. Julene gets to go all day. I really miss her. This is the year when she comes home and feels that she is missing out on things: washing the car, baking, picnics, library, changing holiday decorations, but not shopping. The little boys have to have some activities too.

It so nice that they can walk together. The big kids forgot Julene one day because they each thought the other would walk with her. Hopefully that doesn't every happen again.

Mr. Arrow of Light

Good-bye Cub Scouts. We won't have another cub for 5 more years. I still dont' know what we're doing in new scouts, but Nathan went to his first merit badge pow wow camp. Still trying to decide how much is the scout and how much is the mom.

His summer birthday was a real celebration because it was spent with Randy's family after our time at the lake.
  • water slide
  •  pinata
  •  tie dyeing shirts
  •  capture the flag

August Vacation

Technically not on vacation, but in August and Randy is with us so it feels like a vacation.

This long picture post is what started the neglect of the blog. It just seemed so daunting and we just kept right on go, go, going. But I am going to attempt a quick catchup of the last two months. It aways feels like a busy time for our family having the children involved in so many activities and stages. It will probably continue to get worse since I don't even have a high schooler. Can I say that it just is never my turn on the computer? In the end it just excuses, excuses.

We went with Randy's family to the lake and had a wonderful time. It still seemed a bit cold for August, but it has been a cooler summer.

Tanner still wasn't mobile, which was nice because he would stay on the blanket.
